A window AC unit weighs 50 to 80 pounds, has no good handholds, and has to be balanced on a sill while you hold it with one arm and close the window with the other. In a third-floor Mission Hill walk-up, over a public sidewalk. People are genuinely injured doing this every single summer, and units do fall.
We install it properly: support bracket where the sill needs one, correct outward tilt so condensate drains outside instead of down your wall, panels sealed, and an anti-lift bracket so the window can't be levered open.
In October we come take it out — and store it over winter if you've nowhere to put it. Every unit needs this twice a year, which is why the season bundle is the cheapest way to do it.

Do I need a support bracket?
Above the second floor, assume yes — many Boston landlords require one and several municipalities have pushed for it after units have fallen. It also stops the unit slowly deforming an old wooden sill. We assess on site and tell you straight.
Why does my AC drip inside?
It's installed level or tilted inward. A window unit needs a slight downward tilt toward the outside so condensate exits through the rear drain. It's the single most common install mistake and it will rot your sill and stain your wall.
What does winter storage involve?
We remove it in October, clean the filter and coils, wrap it, and keep it in a dry indoor storage unit over the winter. In May we bring it back and install it. It's $65 for the season, which beats keeping a 70-pound box in the middle of a room you're paying $1,200 a month for.
Can you do the whole apartment at once?
Yes, and it's the right way to do it — one visit, three or four units, and the per-unit time drops. Roommates split it and everyone's cold by dinner.
