A Mission Hill triple is three people in a space designed for two, and the single biggest lever you have is the vertical foot above your bed. Lofting one bed frees up enough floor for a desk, a dresser, and a place to stand.

We loft standard dorm frames, bunk two twins that were never sold as a bunk set, and install risers or platform bases that hold weight properly instead of slowly splaying outward.

Everything gets a load and stability check. If a configuration isn't safe — and some aren't — we'll tell you before we build it, not after.

Is lofting allowed in my dorm?

Most Boston schools allow lofting university-issue frames and many rent loft kits directly. Bunking two non-matched frames is usually fine in off-campus apartments but check your housing agreement if you're in a dorm.

How much space does it actually free up?

Lofting a standard twin to 60 inches gives you roughly 20 square feet of usable floor underneath — enough for a full desk and chair, or a dresser plus storage bins. In a 10x11 triple that's the difference between livable and not.

Will it wobble?

Not when we're done. Racking — that side-to-side sway — is the failure mode on tall frames, and it's fixed with diagonal bracing, not by over-tightening bolts. We brace every loft we build.
